The goal of this program would be to highlight the fact that a distinct language associated with African Americans does exist and it is one that is very unique among a plethora of human dialects that exist around the world. The depth of this dialect is incredible. The hope is that this program would allow people to be educated a bit more about AAVE and also other human dialects. The objectives of the program would be to examine the (1) the origin of AAVE, (2) AAVE in US education (the Ann Arbor Decision), and (3) common grammatical rules of AAVE.
