Parent Organization: Sports and Recreation
We are GoDaiKen- The Five College Kendo Club, based at UMass.
We have been around since the late 1990s (1999), and welcome any practitioner or potential practitioner of kendo from the five colleges or the area.
Kendo is the martial art of the Japanese sword, and one can think of it as Japanese fencing. Come to watch if curious, newcomers are welcome any time. Kendo is practiced in the dojo (martial arts school) format, so people of all ranks and experience levels can practice effectively together, so do not worry if you have no experience.
